VALVE PORT AND METHOD FOR VASCULAR ACCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional technology in a design and usage for a port allowing an implant to establish a temporary access to a patient's blood circulatory system for a hemodialysis and other extra-corporeal blood treatment.

SOLUTION: A percutaneous access method to a body lumen includes the process of keeping a conduit 14 between an implanted access port 10 and the body lumen. The conduit 14 is externally clamped. The method also includes the process of percutaneously inserting an access tube into an access port 10. The insertion process relieves the external clamp and permits a flow of fluid through the conduit 14.
