PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various types of dampers which have various types of structures where adjustable spring initial elastic force is given to a damper body, and whose components are easily managed as a whole and easily and inexpensively shaped. SOLUTION: The damper 1 comprises a spring support 15 mounted on the side of a piston rod 10 of the damper body 2 for supporting a spring 14 at one end, and another spring support 16 mounted on the side of a cylinder tube 4 of the damper body 2 for supporting the spring 14 at the other end. Another spring support 16 has an annular body 19 externally fitted to the cylinder tube 4 in an axially movable manner, a stopper 21 mounted on the cylinder tube 4 for preventing the movement of the annular body 19 a predetermined size L or more toward the axial direction of leaving the piston rod 10 and for preventing the turn of the damper body 2 around an axial center 3, and a spring support body 22 supported by the annular body 19 for supporting the spring 14 at the other end.
