PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with high-speed processing and to decrease the risk of causing failure, breakage and so on of the device in a sorting device provided on the downstream from an article delivery part of a carrying apparatus to distribute the conveyed articles from the carrying conveyer to the upper and lower sides. SOLUTION: This sorting device includes: an upstream member 3 provided on the downstream from the article delivery part 2a of the carrying apparatus 2; a downstream member 4 provided adjacent to the downstream end 3b of the upstream member 3 to have a larger length in the carrying direction than the upstream member 3; and a driving means 5 for rocking the upstream end 4a of the downstream member 4 in the vertical direction, wherein the upstream end 4a of the downstream member 4 is rocked upward to form a drop hole H for the carried article G between the upstream member 3 and the downstream member 4.
