<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a pawl to secure a centering spring without worsening the roundness of a punched hole formed in a cover constituting a brake-side outer ring. <P>SOLUTION: A clutch unit comprises a lever-side clutch provided at the input side to control transmitting/intercepting the rotational torque to the output side by lever operation, and a brake side clutch provided at the output side to transmit the input torque from the lever side clutch to the output side, and intercept the reverse input torque from the output side. An inside centering spring which is a component of the lever side clutch has an annular shape, and has a pair of securing parts secured to a cover 22b which is a component of the brake side clutch at both the sides.
