A method and an apparatus for measuring a pulsewidth of a side-band signal are provided to decrease a communication error while using a side-band channel by monitoring an operation state of a side-band signal generating module. An apparatus for measuring a pulsewidth of a side-band signal includes a side-band signal generator(210), a phase detector(220), a charge pump(230), and a pulsewidth measuring unit(240). At a test mode, the side-band signal generator receives a predetermined data pattern, modulates a pulsewidth of the data pattern, and outputs a side-band signal. The phase detector receives the side-band signal and a reference clock, compares phases of the side-band signal and the reference clock with each other, and outputs a pulse signal corresponding to a phase difference. The charge pump receives the pulse signal and raises or lowers an output voltage based on the pulse signal. The pulsewidth measuring unit receives the output voltage from the charge pump and determines whether the side-band signal has a normal pulsewidth based on whether the output voltage corresponds to a predetermined reference voltage range.
