<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission having a clutch/one-way clutch and a secondary shift portion, wherein a shift shock is eliminated when a multiple skip down shift occurs in a high speed running area and a stable down shift before a vehicle stop is achieved, and the continuity and response of the shift are enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: A method for controlling a skip down shift of an automatic transmission for which a clutch/one-way clutch and a secondary shift portion are applied includes a step of determining if a request for a multiple skip down shift is detected, a step of determining a target shift stage and exhausting hydraulic pressure supplied to an off-going clutch of the secondary shift portion when the request for the multiple skip down shift is detected, and a step of synchronizing the secondary shift portion with the target shift stage through engine torque reduction control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
