A multi-mode optical fiber of multi-wavelength is provided to perform multiple wavelengths operation of multi modes without significant dispersion among modes. A multi-mode optical fiber(12) of multi-wavelength is composed of a multi-layer silicate glass core region(12.1) having a refractive profile parameter for executing a wide band operation within a wavelength range of 0.78 to 1.55 um, and a cladding region(12.3) adjacent to the core region. The core region and the cladding region have NA(Numerical Aperture) of 0.2. The core and cladding regions are arranged to support a simultaneous electric wave of optical radiation in the core region in at least two wavelengths of the wavelength range. The core region is co-doped with aluminum oxide, tin oxide, germanium oxide, and fluorine. The concentration and distribution of a co-dopant are radially changed to grade the refractive index of the core region radially. The optimal profile parameter of the optical fiber is essentially independent of the wavelength range.
