PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with a valve of a type opening and closing a flow passage with a shield, such as a ball valve, wherein sealing around the shaft of a stem driving the shield is insufficient for the valve to fully perform its functions. SOLUTION: Two stem rings (s) are held from top and bottom by O-rings (O-rings made of rubber covered with Teflon (trademark of DuPont), ("Kalrez": trademark of DuPont) k) made from base rubber covered with a layer of fluoropolymer.
