A display panel(100) has a display area and a peripheral area, with a power applying terminal portion being formed in the peripheral area. A frame(300) has a cover portion covering an edge of the display panel, and a power connecting terminal portion disposed on an inner surface of the cover portion and electrically connected to the power applying terminal portion. A power supply unit(600) is disposed on the frame, and supplies a driving power to the power connecting terminal portion. The cover portion is made of an insulation material.
