PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a stop valve for controlling fluid in a pipeline for high pressure/extremely low temperature fluid. SOLUTION: In order to control fluid in an active line for transferring extremely low-temperature fluid, stop valves (2, 51) composed of valve elements 10, 60 formed of hard synthetic resin in which a polyetheretherketone resin having toughness and elasticity in an extremely low-temperature region is filled with a fiber material such as glass fiber, carbon fiber and whisker fiber, and long valve rods 20, 68 including connection parts 21, 69 coupled with the valve elements 10, 60 in the lower part and mounting rotary handles 33, 85 for operating the valve elements 10, 60 in the upper part. Torque control means 36, 80 for preventing the valve elements 10, 60 from being excessively fastened are mounted between the rotary handles 33, 85 and valve rods 20, 68 through the operation of the rotary handles.
