<p>A dishwasher is provided to decrease the usage of washing water and power consumption by reducing the capacity of a washing pump and restricting washing water from draining unnecessarily, to increase the capacity of a tub by reducing the height of a driving unit, and to clean dregs easily by minimizing garbage remaining in a sump in draining water. A dishwasher includes a tub in which tableware is placed, a sump(110) having a collecting part for storing washing water injected in the tub, a washing pump(120) pumping washing water from the collecting part to the tub, and a filter unit(170) formed at the side of the collecting part to filter washing water. Washing water is supplied to the collecting part through a side wall of the filter unit. A pollutant storage chamber(111) is formed at the side of the collecting part to collect pollutant, and the filter unit is placed in the pollutant storage chamber.</p> |
