PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device or the like having high spatial resolution suited to high frequency components by an evanescent wave in a negative refractive lens. SOLUTION: The illumination device has a light-emitting thin film 106 containing a light-emitting material for emitting light by applying energy, has a cathode 101 in order to apply an electron beam 102 which is energy to the light-emitting thin film 106, and has an optical system in order to project the light emitted from the light-emitting thin film 106 to an object while including the negative refractive lens 110 constituted of a material showing negative refraction.
