Method for determining the pressure difference in the brake circuits (I/II) of a vehicle braking system comprises sliding a piston (5) of at least one pump (6) from a holding position into the brake circuits using a mechanical connection. The sliding movement is transferred onto the anchor of an electric motor (7) in the form of a partial rotation which produces a measurable voltage induction. The induction is evaluated to determine the pressure difference. An independent claim is also included for a system for determining the pressure difference in the brake circuits of a vehicle braking system. Preferred Features: The voltage induction is directly or indirectly determined on the anchor of the electric motor, scanned and applied in a data storage unit.
