PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mildew-proofing means that assures quick exertion of mildew-proofing effect and is capable of applying the mildew-proofing effects to each and every inside corner of the room space. SOLUTION: A ventilator 1, installed on the reverse surface of a bathroom ceiling C, has a housing 2 which is partitioned into a suction chamber 3 furnished with a blower device 4 and a volatilization chamber 5 furnished with a volatilizing means 6 for a mildew-proofing agent, in which opening/closing means are installed at the inflow port 5b and discharge hole 5c of an exhaust passage 11 and the volatilization chamber 5. During the ventilation process, the volatilization chamber 5 is kept in a tightly shut condition, and is filled with the gas of the mildew-proofing agent which is gasified and fed from the volatilizing means 6. The mildew-proofing process consists of shutting the exhaust passage 11, opening the influx hole 5b and discharge hole 5c of the volatilization chamber 5, sending the air into the volatilization chamber 5 by the blower device 4, and pushing out in a lump the gas of the mildew-proofing agent of high concentration. The concentration of the mildew-proofing agent gas in the bathroom increases steeply, and the mildew-proofing effect is manifested, in a short time. The gas disperses quickly.
