An analog time display device for a vehicle is provided to automatically calibrate time when a vehicle battery is replaced by obtaining real-time from an external time base. An analog time display device for a vehicle includes an analog display, at least one time base(24,26), a main power source(20), a power depletion detector(22), and a non-volatile memory(32). The analog display includes at least one needle(10), which is driven by a stepping motor. The time base controls and drives the stepping motor(12). The power depletion detector detects a lack in power, which is supplied from the main power supply. The non-volatile memory is powered by an additional power supply(28) and stores time data when the power lack is detected. The non-volatile memory contains the stepping motor position data(mupas) when the lack of sufficient power is detected. |
