PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding pressure control device for a belt-type CVT, which reduces holding pressure by improving the accuracy of estimation of engine torque so as to achieve an improvement in fuel consumption while preventing slipping of a belt. SOLUTION: The holding pressure control device for the belt-type CVT 200 that is connected to an engine 100 equipped with a first intake air amount detection means 125 for detecting an amount of intake air, includes: the transmission belt 20 stretched between a driving-side pulley 21 and a driven-side pulley 31 and held by the pulleys at a predetermined holding pressure; an intake air amount correction means 126 for correcting a detecting error of the first intake air amount detection means 125; an engine torque estimation means for estimating the engine torque based on operating conditions of the engine including the intake air amount corrected by the intake air amount correction means 126; and a holding pressure setting means for setting the holding pressure, based on the estimated value of the engine torque.
