A method and a terminal for managing log are provided to enable a server to remotely manage a storage location and a storage type of log data and access the stored log data if necessary, thereby reducing waste of radio resources and reducing network operation costs. A method for managing log comprises the following steps of: receiving a log management object from a device management server; assigning a log buffer according to the management object(4); and storing log data in the assigned log buffer(16). The management object includes one or more of first to third nodes. The first node shows the total size of the log buffer capable of storing the log data. The second node shows a size of an empty area of the log buffer. The third node shows information about the assigned area of the log buffer.
