PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing system capable of specifying a layer corresponding to a document element printed on a medium document on the basis of the medium document and applying prescribed output processing to a document element corresponding to the layer. SOLUTION: A system control part 10 extracts document identification information and layer identification information from a medium document in which document identification information for identifying an electronic document of an output object and layer identification information for identifying an output object layer are recorded, retrieves an electronic document of an output object on the basis of the document identification information extracted from an electronic document storage part 30, specifies the layer corresponding to layer identification information extracted among a plurality of layers constituting the retrieved electronic document of an output object and instructs a printing part 40 and a display part 60 to perform output processing to a document element associated with the specified layer.
