1,004,898. Wire cables. V.D.O. TACHOMETER WERKE, ADOLF SCHINDLING G.m.b.H. and H. J. GOLDE G.m.b.H. June 8, 1964 [June 7, 1963], No. 23577/64. Heading D1T. [Also in Division F2] A flexible cable for transmitting pulk and thrusts has an outer helical winding 1, for engagement by a toothed wheel, and a high tensile corewire 2 that is wound helically about its longitudinal axis with the same pitch as the winding 1 but with a larger pitch angle. The cable includes intermediate windings 3, 4 and 5 wound at equal pitch but in opposite directions successively over the corewire 2. The helical formation of the wire 2 is preferably so slight that the wire 2 has a continuous solid cylindrical portion extending throughout its length. |
