SURGICAL FASTENER APPLYING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical fastener to continuously apply a plurality of surgical fasteners to a body tissue.

SOLUTION: The surgical fastener applying device comprises a cartridge side part and an anvil side part. The cartridge side part and the anvil side part are relatively movable from a non-clamping position to a completely clamping position. The device includes a staple cartridge assembly that is replaceable. comprising a plurality of surgical staples, and a safety lockout rotatably installed on it. The safety lockout is rotatable between an initial position where relative move of the cartridge side part and the anvil side part to the completely clamping position is permitted and a block position where restoration of the cartridge side part and the anvil side part to the completely clamping position is prohibited after a plurality of the staples are shot at least partly.
