PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the diameter, thickness, size of a lens barrier device. SOLUTION: The lens barrier device comprises: a barrier base 10 that sections an aperture 10a; barrier blades 20 and 30 supported on the barrier base so as to be freely swingable; and a drive mechanism that drives the barrier blades 20 and 30 so that they may be opened or closed. The drive mechanism includes: an opening/closing lever 40 that opens or closes each barrier blade between its opened position and closed position; a closing spring 60 that applies urging force in the direction in which each barrier blade is closed; a restricting lever 50 that rotates in one direction by external force, thereby moving the opening/closing lever 40 in the closed position, rotates in the other direction by release from the external force, thereby moving the opening/closing lever 40 in the opened position, and thus restricts the movement of the lever 40; and an opening spring 70 that applies urging force, greater than the closing spring, in the direction in which each barrier blade is opened.
