APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MOBILE COMMERCE PROVIDING IN A PORTABLE TERMINAL

An apparatus and a method for providing a mobile commerce function in a portable terminal are provided to implement a mobile commerce function with minimum components by using an exterior mobile commerce module in providing the mobile commerce function in a portable terminal and to reduce manufacturing cost by omitting a roof antenna mounted at a battery for the mobile comers function. A portable terminal, if an external input is detected in an idle state, judges whether the external input is an exterior mobile commerce module to execute a mobile commerce function(601-605). In case that the external input is the mobile commerce module, the portable terminal confirms a signal inputted from the mobile commerce module(609). The portable terminal automatically accesses the path to execute the mobile commerce function according to the inputted signal and carries out a mobile commerce operation(611,613). After executing the mobile commerce operation, the portable terminal completes the mobile commerce operation according to a user request(615).
