<p>A transmission type liquid crystal display device that realizes reduced fluctuation of display performance, bright display, high contrast and reduced viewing angle dependence. There is provided a transmission type liquid crystal display device comprising at least, arranged in sequence from the backlight side, a polarizing plate, a first optically anisotropic layer of 50 to 140 nm phase difference value at 550 nm wavelength, a second optically anisotropic layer of negative optical anisotropy, a homogeneous aligned liquid crystal cell having a liquid crystal layer interposed between oppositely arranged superior substrate and inferior substrate, a third optically anisotropic layer of 130 to 210 nm phase difference value at 550 nm wavelength and a polarizing plate, wherein the first optically anisotropic layer consists of at least a liquid crystal film having a nematic hybrid orientation structure fixed therein.</p> |
