The apparatus has a data acquiring unit that acquires electronic data e.g. image information, and a tamper-resistant chip including a storing unit e.g. hard disc, that stores a confidential key specific to the apparatus. A collecting unit collects apparatus information that includes internal information of the apparatus, and an attaching unit attaches collected apparatus information to the acquired electronic data. An encrypting unit encrypts the electronic data with the apparatus information attached using the confidential key. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an information processing method (2) a computer readable medium has a set of instructions for acquiring electronic data.
