The helicopter (1) has a main rotor (4) driven by a rotor shaft (8), where the rotor is pivotably attached at the shaft such that an angle between a rotating section of the rotor and the shaft is varied. A controller controls a cyclic movement of an angle of a blade of the rotor relative to another angle of another blade of the rotor along a portion of 360 degree rotation path around the shaft. A variation of lifting force of the blade is produced along the portion of the rotation path such that a housing (2) is driven to a rest position in a horizontal direction.
