<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus, an image recording method and a program by which files recorded in a storage medium can be managed finely so as to be familiar for a user. <P>SOLUTION: One image picked up at a time point of still picture imaging operation is recorded on a recording medium as a still picture file, and a plurality of images picked up from a time point of motion picture imaging starting operation to a time point of motion picture imaging ending operation are recorded on the recording medium as a motion picture file.
