The invention relates to a balloon control ring (12) for a textile machine, comprising a metallic hollow cylinder (23) having a wear-resistant surface formed from a sheet metal strip. An edge strip (8, 9; 10, 11; 55, 56) is respectively folded around the top edge and the bottom edge of the hollow cylinder (2, 23, 37). An end section (14, 15) is respectively bent around both ends of the sheet metal strip, towards the outside, and the hollow cylinder (2, 23, 37) is held by the end sections (3, 4; 14, 15; 38, 39). The maximum thickness of the sheet metal strip is 0.6 mm. The hollow cylinder (23) is thus light and dimensionally stable and can be economically produced. The stability of the shape of the hollow cylinder (23) is supported by the holding element (13) of the balloon control ring (12). |
