An LED(Light Emitting Diode) lamp installed on stairs to be automatically lighted and a lighting method thereof are provided to prevent an accident on stairs by having a high intensity of illumination with low electric charges. An LED lamp installed on stairs(11,12,13) to be automatically lighted includes a human body detecting sensor, and LEDs. The human body detecting sensor detects whether a pedestrian walks up or down. The LEDs are installed inside slip prevention protrusions(21,22,23) on the edge of the stairs(11,12,13), are sequentially lighted at predetermined time intervals according to signals detected by the human body detecting sensor, and are turned off after a predetermined time. |
