PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery having high performance, capable of increasing the inner volume of the battery for housing a power generation element. SOLUTION: The sealed battery is formed by housing the power generation element in a cylindrical battery case with bottom, forming a groove in the battery case, and sealing an opening part of the battery case with a sealing plate through a gasket, and the sealing plate has at least a valve body and a sealing plate case, the valve body has an easily breaking part, the easily breaking part can be deformed and broken by increase of the inner pressure of the sealed battery, and the valve body does not exist in a portion interposed between the groove and the the tip part of the opening part of the battery case.
