One of two alternating cam groups has two zero stroke cams (13,14) and an intermediate cam (15) in-between. The axial length (17) of one zero stroke cam (13) is longer than that of the other cam (14), allowing one cam (13) to contact the gas intake valve actuator or its rocker arm and a radial bearing (16) in one operating mode, or contact only the bearing in the other operating mode. An independent claim is also included for a cam group for a valve drive.
