<p>This invention discloses a device and a method for securely, gripping or holding together stacks of sheets, particularly, bank notes. The device has gripping means, in the form of two opposing planar deformable resilient gripping members which when applied to the stack in an operative deformed configuration of the device, contact and grip the parallel opposite faces of the said stack with a gripping force, and a deformable spine member connecting the said gripping members which contacts and grips the collated edge , and tamper evident means, integratable with the gripping means, said tamper evident means having provisions to enable authenticity or accountability markings and also to irreversibly leave a trace of any attempts of unauthorised tampering with the contents of the said stack. The device has a provision for easy authorised and / or intentional destacking of the said stack of sheets or currency notes by deliberate deformation, fracturing or frangibility of at least a portion the device and the tamper evident means.</p> |
