PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method that indicates superior transfer performance in both the primary transfer and secondary transfer, even if large amounts of toners are put on a recording member, using an image forming apparatus with an intermediate transfer member, and in which the variations in colors are less likely to occur, even under environmental variations. SOLUTION: In the image forming method used in an image forming apparatus with an intermediate transfer member and a cyan toner a and a cyan toner b for use in full-color image formation, the cyan toner a has lightness L*(a) in a powder state of 45-75, the cyan toner b has lightness L*(b) in a powder state lower than the lightness L*(a) of the cyan toner a, and elastic deformation rates Ea, Eb for the cyan toner a and the cyan toner b, represented by Ea=(Sa-Ia)×100/Sa and Eb=(Sb-Ib)×100/Sb that satisfy 0%≤¾Ea-Eb¾≤10%, where Sa and Sb are the maximum displacement magnitudes and Ia and Ib are the plastic displacement magnitudes of the cyan toner a and of the cyan toner b with respect to a load of 9.8×10<SP>-5</SP>N.
