<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and timely set a control area set in front of an own vehicle, and to precisely carry out warning control. <P>SOLUTION: The warning control executed by a control unit 5 computes a target path of the own vehicle 1 by approximating with a straight or an arc path according to a present position of a preceding vehicle and a present position of the own vehicle 1 when the preceding vehicle exists. A warning area is variably set on the basis of the target path, and width and extending length is variably set on the basis of own vehicle speed, an inter-vehicle diameter between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle, speed approaching to the warning area of a solid article which is a determination target, relative speed between the preceding vehicle and the own vehicle.
