PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool which prevents exhaust of motor cooling air from hitting on the hand or the like holding the power tool. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the power tool, a motor housing section (17) extends in a longitudinal direction of a handle section (16), and a motor (19) is stored in the motor housing section such that a center line of an armature (20) extends into the handle section. Herein a motor cooling fan (25) is installed in a gap between a core (26) of the armature and a commutator, and intake ports (29) of cooling air (a) are formed in the motor housing section at locations close to the handle section, followed by forming exhaust ports (27) of the cooling air in the motor housing section (17) at locations in the vicinity of the cooling fan (25). In a conventional power tool, exhaust ports of cooling air are formed at locations near a handle section. However, in the present power tool, the intake ports (29) are formed near the handle section, and therefore the cooling air does not hit the body section such as the hand and the face, of the operator.
