PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge circuit capable of shortening charging time for a main capacitor, and to provide a light emitting device and a camera. SOLUTION: In the charge circuit for charging the main capacitor 132 having a step-up transformer 118 and a switching element 119 controlling the boosting action of the transformer, a coil 115 is provided in the loop of a primary current flowing to the transformer from a DC power source 110 through the switching element, and a capacitor 117 charged with energy generated in the coil in a period when the switching element is turned off is provided. By superposing the charging charge of the capacitor on the voltage of the DC power source in a period when the switching element is turned on, the primary current is applied.
