APPLIANCE HINGE

A hinge assembly for engaging an appliance door (102) to an appliance (100), such that rotational forces generated by the door as function of the door position are balanced against a rotation force exerted about an axis (106) of rotation for the door. The hinge assembly is engaged to an interface (200) using a locking bar (510) to prevent translation of the adapter plate (306) relative to the interface. The hinge assembly further has a plunger (316) incorporating an ovoid shaped retention pin (1202)bore for retaining an elastic element (312) to the plunger.
