Process to perforate sheet metal panel by initial presentation of cutter to one side followed by action of press in reverse direction

In a process to perforate a sheet metal panel (1) with a matrix (2) and a die (3), the margin around the intended hole is stretched to form a curved profile prior to operation of the die. After operation of the die, the sheet metal panel is presented to the reverse side of the matrix where the curvature is removed by a press.
