<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave imaging system capable of obtaining microwave images by suppressing side lobes. <P>SOLUTION: The microwave imaging system comprises a subarray that forms complementary subarray patterns and is arranged in a rough geometric array, a transmitter, a receiver, and an irradiation network that transmits microwave radiation to both complementary subarray patterns from the transmitter in first mode, provides reflected microwave radiation for the receiver, transmits it to the first pattern of the complementary subarray patterns from the transmitter in second mode, and provides reflected microwave radiation from the second pattern for the receiver.
