PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light cooler box and its production method for reducing costs in producing a container body and for reducing the outer size of the main body without lowering a heat retaining characteristic. SOLUTION: This cooler box is provided with a top open rectangular parallelepiped boxlike container body 5. The main body 5 is provided with a hard resin inner case member 1 forming each inside face of a bottom wall 51 and four peripheral side walls 50 and at least the outside surface of the four walls 50 is covered with a flexible sheet body 3. The inside face of the sheet body 3 is adhered to and integrated with the outside face 4a of a foamed resin inside layer 4 integrally surrounding the side wall face 14 of the member 1 by solidification in forming the layer 4.
