The air purifier includes a pleated High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter 116 installed on top of the high capacity mechanical ventilation fan 120 therein. Besides filtering off substances of size greater than 0.3 micron, the HEPA filter also attenuates the high-frequency noise generated by the fan.
