PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding material exhibiting good moldability in melt molding, and to provide a molded article formed by melt-molding of the molding material, wherein, in cutting work of a thick article thereof into a desired form, few cracks and nicks are caused by the work, and the molded article exhibits good impact resistance. SOLUTION: The molding material comprises a polyester-based resin which comprises (A) 90-99 mass% polyester-based resin ingredient having dicarboxylic acid unit composed mainly of aromatic dicarboxylic acid unit and diol unit composed mainly of ethylene glycol unit and (B) 10-1 mass% polyalkylene glycol ingredient having 700-4,000 number-average molecular weight, and has≥0.7 dl/g intrinsic viscosity.
