The submerged motor pump has a housing (1) enclosing a pump wheel (2) driven by an electric motor (3). The motor housing has a cooling sleeve (5) which receives fluid from the pump wheel for through flow. The pump wheel has a discharge outlet with a pressure side throttle gap (7) on the smaller pump wheel diameter. Pressure discharge from the throttle gap to the surrounding discharge chamber (9) passes through the cooling sleeve.
