PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous molding exhibiting excellent cost performance when used for adsorbing/removing low-concentration phosphorus, boron, fluorine or arsenic contained in industrial water or waste water and to provide a method for producing the porous molding. SOLUTION: The porous molding contains an organic polymer resin and an inorganic ion adsorbent and has fibrils each of which has voids therein. At least a part of the void is opened to the surface of the fibril. The inorganic ion adsorbent containing at least one of the metal oxides shown by formula (I): MN<SB>x</SB>O<SB>n</SB>-mH<SB>2</SB>O (wherein x is 0-3; n is 1-4; m is 0-6; M and N are each a metallic element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Sn, Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Al, Si, Cr, Co, Ga, Fe, Mn, Ni, V, Ge, Nb and Ta and are different from each other) is deposited on the outside surface of the fibril and on the surface of the internal void.
