PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency at the test piece mounting time of a universal joint interposed between a crosshead and a gripping implement. SOLUTION: A bolt 10 is fixed integrally to a joint member 6M on the upside of the universal joint 6 through a disk 13, and the bolt 10 penetrates a through hole 4H formed on an upper frame of the crosshead 4, and a nut 11 is screwed through a washer 12, to thereby suspend the universal joint 6 and a load detector 5. Two pins 14 are planted on the disk 13, and the pins 14 enter side holes 4F formed on the side of the through hole 4H. When rotating the nut 11 to displace the bolt 10 upward, the whole universal joint 6 is not rotated, and the universal joint 6 and the load detector 5 are displaced upward by rotation of the nut 11. The upper surface of the load detector 5 abuts on the under surface of a lower frame of the crosshead 4 by the displacement. The function of the universal joint 6 becomes unavailable by pressing by the load detector 5, and a test piece gripping device 7 suspended from a suspension shaft as shown in Fig.4 is prevented from moving freely.
