PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved end binder for a heald shaft. SOLUTION: The end binder 5 for a heald shaft 1 is formed of a bent sheet metal member 9. The member preferably has a U-shaped cross-section and is made of a high-quality steel in a preferred embodiment. The open face of the U-shaped cross-section is directed against shaft rods 2, 3. A shaft rod coupler 28 held preferably in a rotatable manner is fixed in a hollow space encircled by the bent sheet metal member 9. The upper end part or lower end part of the bent sheet metal member forms a part of a driving coupler 25. The driving coupler is positioned preferably on a straight line continuing from the bent sheet metal member 9 and is integrated with end binders 5. The structure is easily producible with an extremely small tolerance and has light weight supportable by a plastic guide, considerable rigidity and extremely satisfiable bearing characteristics.
