An LED with a diffusion barrier layer is provided to improve the characteristic of an LED device by an n-ohmic contact heat treatment by interposing a conductive diffusion barrier layer between an ohmic contact metal layer and a junction layer in an LED part. A substrate, a junction layer(17), an ohmic contact metal layer and an LED part are sequentially stacked in an LED device. A conductive layer(14) for preventing the junction layer component from being diffused to the ohmic contact metal layer is interposed between the ohmic contact metal layer and the junction layer. The conductive layer has a defect not greater than 1 per unit area, made of a conductive material having a higher density than adhesive.
