A reading desk is provided to enable a user to read the contents of documents without lowering his head, and to prevent the upper parts of remaining documents from rolling upward even when the number of unread documents is small. The reading desk(1) is used to let a book placed thereon. On the right and left sides of a front plate(2), side plates(5) are attached. On the upper and lower surfaces of the side plates(5), an upper surface plate(4) and a lower surface plate(8) are attached. The front plate(2) is formed to be slant to the rear at a predetermined angle. The height from the lower surface plate(8) to the upper surface plate(4) is formed to be shorter than the height from the lower surface plate(8) to the upper end of the front plate(2).
