A reel body for dual-bearing reel is provided to form a case member and a cover member as separate materials and, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost of the reel unit. The reel body for a dual-bearing reel includes a body member(1a), a cover member(4b) and a case member(4a). The body member(1a) is mounted on a fishing rod. The cover member(4b) is mounted to cover the front portion of the body member(1a) and the upper portion of the body member(1a) that is separated from the fishing rod. In the approximate center of the cover member(4b), an opening portion(4c) is formed. The case member(4a) is mounted on the opening portion(4c) as a separate material to let its upper surface exposed to the outside, and receives various electric components at the inside thereof.
