PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device capable of being made thin and an electronic apparatus provided with the same. SOLUTION: The electro-optical device includes; polarizers 14 and 38 which are provided so as to overlap areas corresponding to a display area B, of a front face 8a of a substrate 8 of a liquid crystal panel 2 and a rear face 9c of a substrate 9; adhesive members 62 and 39 provided in edge parts E being peripheral edge part areas other than areas where the polarizers 14 and 38 are provided, of the front face 8a of the substrate 8 of the liquid crystal panel 2 and the rear face 9c of the substrate 9; and a second frame 60 and a first frame 5 which hold and support the liquid crystal panel 2 through the adhesive members 62 and 39. Therefore, the second frame 62 and the first frame 5 can be set to the liquid crystal panel 2 without putting the polarizers 14 and 38 and the adhesive members 62 and 39 one over the other respectively, and a liquid crystal device 1 can be made thin by thickness of the polarizers 14 and 28.
