<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly, in which corrosion of a cathode catalyst in start and stop and decomposition of an electrolyte membrane in holding an OCV can be suppressed effectively. <P>SOLUTION: This is the manufacturing method of the electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly which has a process for obtaining a first laminate 6c having a cathode catalyst layer 4c and a first gasket layer 2c, neighboring at least one part of the end part of the cathode catalyst layer on a first base material 5c, a process for forming an anode catalyst layer 4a on a second base material 5a to obtain a second laminate 6a, and a process to hot-press the laminate in the laminating direction by a means such that the first laminate, a polyelectrolyte membrane, and a second laminate are laminated sequentially so that the polyelectrolyte membrane 1 is pinched between the first and second laminates, and wherein the first gasket layer is formed so that the effective area of the anode catalyst layer becomes larger than that of the cathode catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
